This research paper: A 5 page paper discussing dysfunction of the disks of the C2 – C7 vertebrae. There is much attention given to the topic of lower back pain in the popular press, but much less energy devoted to the degenerative effects of disk disease at the other extreme of the spine, an issue with which many people live daily. The purpose here is to provide an overview of the disease and some of the treatments available for it. The paper discusses herniation, degenerative disk disease and to a lesser extent internal disk disruption. It includes a discussion of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment.
