This research paper: A 3 page paper discussing enteral-nasogastric feeding of children and its ethical implications. Of course enteral feeding is good for the patient, but the fact is that sometimes it can cause harm. This is certainly contrary to the principle of non-maleficence, but it is in the spirit of trying to provide benefit to the patient. Though both can be seen as being present, it is the intention of beneficence rather than the possibility of harm that should guide the use of enteral feeding. Harvard-style bibliography lists 6 sources.
