This research paper: This is a 5 page paper discussing the role of women in the military and the restrictions on them from combat positions. Recent developments in occupations available to women in the military have led to an increase in women in the roles of aviation, surface warfare, air traffic control and field artillery. However, because of the restrictions which still apply to certain positions, women cannot serve in positions which are considered more dangerous because of their ‘direct ground combat’ component.
