This research paper: 6 pages in length. Depression has a number of catalysts from environmental to biological, but one that is not as often considered as other causes is that of nutrition. Research has clearly illustrated the interwoven association between appropriate food choices and mental illness; the extent to which depression is a consequence poor nutrition is both grand and far-reaching. Babies who fail to thrive from poor nutritional choices during their developmental period are prone to infant depression; adolescents pose a particularly close relationship to criminal activity when their diet lacks sustenance; and mature adults experience greater incidence of dementia because of deficiencies attributable to an inadequate diet. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
