This research paper: A 10 page paper discussing changes in the key roles and function of HR departments in recent years, using a large insurance company and a plastics manufacturer as examples. Both companies have realigned much of their HR function to that of strategically planning for future needs based on management's forecasts for the future. Rather than react to management dictates, they now take more active roles in determining how the companies can best use those employees already present, and how best the companies can continue benefiting from the original investment they made in those employees.
