This research paper: A 15 page paper discussing the effects of stress on diabetes. Stress has been linked to a variety of diseases for many years. It has been relatively recently, however, that it has been linked to diabetes in terms of having direct effect on diabetics’ blood glucose levels and their ability to manage fluctuations. The purpose here is to provide an overview of the disease and stress, and provide literature support of how stress and diabetes interact. While the full effect of stress on diabetes is not totally clear, it is extremely clear that stress negatively affects progress of the disease and individuals’ ability to control their conditions. While it is reasonable to assume that stress also may affect onset of the disease in those genetically predisposed to it, that possibility has not yet been proven. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
