This research paper: A 9 page research paper/essay that argues that Jesus' life and teaching are as important as his death and resurrection to Christian life. Theologically, there is a tendency to put more emphasis on Jesus' death and resurrection than on the substance of his life and teaching. While it is true that many Christians believe that it is through the process of Jesus' death and resurrection that Christians are redeemed from sin and, through the grace of God, given the gift of everlasting life with Christ, it is through the example set by the life and teaching of Jesus that humanity is meant to learn how to live in the here-and-now. These are two halves of the same equation and indicate that Christ's life and teaching should provide the template by which Christians are meant to learn the meaning of life and suffering and the role that this should play in spiritual development.
