This research paper: 5 pages in length. The lifelike bust that Thutmose sculpted of Queen Nefertiti marked a time in Egyptian art history when the human form took on a true appeal. Subsequent to this significant transitional period, physical features were less than flattering, with necks typically over exaggerated and other characteristics working to draw away from the human form rather than towards it. Housed in the Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung in Berlin, the sculptor of Nefertiti’s beautiful bust is said to have set a precedent that continued to progress throughout the artistic world. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
